Eau d’Orange Verte the famous Hermès Cologne

Eau d'Orange Verte the famous Hermès Cologne

The pretty Eau de Cologne d’Hermès was born from the expert “nose” of Françoise Caron in 1978. Renamed Eau d’Orange Verte in 1998, it remains one of the great classics of the Hermès perfume house . Because Eau d’Orange Verte could be the sum of the strong values of the famous house which has always positioned itself as a craftsman of French know-how and elegance. Like an eau de Campagne stamped with Hermès leather, Eau d’Orange Verte has always known how to demonstrate its strong character.

Natural pleasures and sporting joys for a classic and timeless Eau d’Orange Verte

If Hermès has been famous since 1837 for its leather goods and luxury saddlery, the venerable house is now famous in the world of perfumery since the launch in 1951 of Eau d’Hermès or even Calèche. In order to create perfumes that match the quality of its leathers, the house does not shy away from any originality or raw material of choice. A requirement of absolute payoff as the first Hermès perfumes met with immediate success.

However, the 1970s marked a decisive turning point for luxury perfumery, where patchouli perfumes were glorified, others sought to distinguish themselves by bringing forgotten fragrances back to the fore, including Eaux de Cologne.

Thus the Hermès house asked several perfumers to offer them an Eau de Cologne “that does not hold” and it is the very citrus and minty composition of Françoise Caron who won a Hermès bottle, in front of a Jean-Claude Ellena. conquered… but which would return much later with Hermès creations of the same type (Eau de Gentiane Blanche, Eau de Pamplemousse Rose…). Ironically, when you hold us!

Françoise Caron affirms for the Express: “I then made a very readable proposal, very citrus, but with a small effect of crumpled mint that the others probably did not have and this note of blackcurrant bud, this fruity touch. who is very active. It was one of my first perfumes. What a great gift!

Thus released in 1978 Eau d’Orange Verte or rather named at the time Eau de Cologne Hermès. This Hermès Eau de Cologne will be presented as a sports and mixed juice which will be linked in particular to the pleasures of outdoor sports, a very “healthy” trend which will make a strong comeback in the perfume shelves of the 80s and especially the 90s.

The one that exalts “pleasure after pleasure” will however be renamed in 1998 under the poetic and enigmatic name of Eau d’Orange Verte, which will in no way harm its aura and its success, which has not yet been denied.

Modern Hermès Cologne and its sparkling scents

The Eau d’Orange Verte bottle is already a perfume classic that relates to its elder from the 1950s, Eau d’Hermès. However, the bottle is longer and above all much more colorful. We can easily imagine that the bright green color of the juice has been worked on to match its enigmatic name.

Eau d’Orange Verte offers a tonic and invigorating start composed around a relatively classic citrus cocktail for a Cologne (mandarin, lemon, petitgrain and orange) embellished with an original and powerful crumpled mint. At the heart, the opulent neroli flower is mingled with the freshness of a hedione note punctuated by a fruity blackcurrant bud surprisingly delicious. Finally, oak moss and patchouli extend this summer walk on a more wooded and sensual ground.

“Founding Cologne created by Françoise Caron in 1979, and inspired by the smell of undergrowth wet with morning dew, this fragrance, which has since established itself as an emblem of Hermès, is distinguished by its unique freshness. »Hermès for Eau d’Orange Verte.
